My Purpose of this Book

Is to help YOU!

THIS IS MY BEGINNING:

When I received the position at the post office the first thing told to me by the hiring supervisor was that I didn't have much chance of keeping the job. They had not been successful in finding people who could manage this route. Many subs had failed before ME!!  He told me the route was very heavy volume, with a lot of miles, a lot of stops and some enduring terrain. He also said that the regular that I would be working for was not a people person so I need not expect much help from him.  These are not encouraging things to hear on your first day of work.

But that was probably the very best thing he could have told me!

I'm the kind of person who loves a challenge and believe me it was more than a challenge during those first few months. There were times I wanted to cry or quit!  But I am proud to say I jumped in thought it over and discovered the quickest and easiest way to organize all those flats, letters, small packages, large packages, and accountables.

When you are the new person on the block people are not always kind. Sometimes other subs see you as the enemy.

I felt so alone!

Why AM I  the ENEMY?

Well think of it this way!

1.     The more subs the fewer hours.

2.     You are a threat to them.

3.     Maybe you will be faster than them.

4.     Maybe you will be more efficient than them.

5.     Therefore they may rather see you fail!

6.     Don’t count on them to tell you there secrets they don’t want you to KNOW.

7.     BE PREPARED YOURSELF.

8.     ONLY YOU HOLD THE KEY TO YOUR FUTURE AT THE POST OFFICE.

9.     YOU MUST GET THE MAIL DELIVERED!

10. AND THIS IS HOW YOU ARE GOING TO DO IT!

I would like to alleviate some of those fears of going it alone by helping you with this small handbook on how to be organized. Being able to go out and do your route and actually be organized is the key.

I will also say there are some regulars this book might help too. People get set in there way and don’t realize that change can be good. You don’t have to do it the same way you were taught 20 years ago. Do it the fastest most efficient way!

Try it my way!
